THIRD ROW FOR BLUSENS BQR RIDERS. THEY BOTH ARE HALF A SECOND AWAY FROM THE FIRST ONE IN THE LAST EVENT OF THE YEAR

Cheste, 7th November 2009. A strong wind was the protagonist of the qualifying session in the Gran Premi de la Comunitat Valenciana of the MotoGP World Championship 2009, which finds its end at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, which has been one of the most exciting seasons of the last years. For Tito Rabat and Scott Redding, because of their size, the wind means an extra handicap. The British rider has fallen down his bike shortly before the end of the qualifying session today. Fortunately, with this crash only his leather was a bit damaged. The riders of Blusens BQR want to make his best performance of the year in the circuit that is like the second home of the team. These two riders have faced lots of mechanical problems and accidents during 2009, so their options for efficiently battling to get their goals were reduced dramatically. In order to get his best result Scott should get a podium (he was third in Donington), although being in the top five would be a nice way to say goodbye as well. In the case of Tito, he would need to end up sixth.

45 SCOTT REDDING (9º. 1’42.233 +0.761): “The free practices were great; we were really comfortable both days. However, this afternoon the wind was really strong and we had to change some things of the motorbike’s set up. Anyways, in general the Aprilia is working really well, both engine and chassis, and I am very glad with this setting. We are starting from the third row which is alright because we are just a little bit more than half a second away from the pole. Nevertheless, I wonder what would have happened if I would not have gone out of track a few minutes before the end of the session. I think I would be starting from the pole. Furthermore, 40 seconds before the end the wind has made me crash…”

12 TITO RABAT (11º. 1’42.832 +0.832): “The wind has become a problem today during the whole qualifying session. I was very affected by it because of my size. This has made us change the motorbike setting and modify what we had planned. The afternoon has started well, but later I began to lose the good feeling and at the end I could not keep fighting for the positions I wanted. Despite of that, I am happy with the result because a third row is not bad. Plus we are just half a second away from the pole which is a sign of the good work we have been doing lately. My goal for tomorrow is clear as water: I want to start as well as I have been doing in passed GGPP and stick with the first group, because I would like to close the year getting my best result. I have finished seventh twice this season, so I would love to be in the top five now. A podium would be just terrific, a great way of thanking the team and sponsors for their support.”
