THE 2009 SEASON ENDS IN THE WORST WAY FOR THE RIDERS OF THE TEAM BLUSENS BQR: THEY CRASH AND SAY GOODBYE TO A DIFFICULT YEAR FEELING A LITTLE BIT DISAPPOINTED

Cheste, 8th November 2009. The last race of the MotoGP World Championship 2009 in the Gran Premi de la Comunitat Valenciana did not help Scott Redding and Tito Rabat to feel better about a season that has not been what they expected. Many problems and a good portion of bad luck have kept them from their objectives. For this last race, they both wanted to go for their best result of the year and dedicate it to the team Blusens BQR, which has supported them at all times. However, they both have crashed when Scott has touched Tito’s bike. Thus, Scott has finished 15th with 50.5 points and Tito 19th with 37 points.

45 SCOTT REDDING (Crash): “Finally, we were starting from a good position in the third row. Unfortunately, I did not begin well enough and I soon got in the back. The motorbike’s engine was working great and we did a good set up, so I was able to catch up. Tito and I were in the second group, which was quite big. I wanted to cross the line from the inside, but I was too speedy and I could not help crashing, and I made my team mate crash with me. There were many riders around, but it was Tito who fell down; that is really unlucky. I am truly upset because the team did not deserve such an ending, so I want to apologise to them.”

12 TITO RABAT (Crash): “We were starting today from the third row, but I did not perform a good start, nor a bad one. I stayed in the same position. There was a front group with the riders that were battling for the podium and then another group pretty numerous where Tito and I were. At the beginning it was hard for me to speed up and keep the rhythm, but finally I managed to catch up and stick to the group that had the riders in the 3rd to 9th positions. Suddenly, I saw a rider coming directly to me and hitting me hard. We crashed and then I realised it was Scott, my team mate in Blusens BQR. I understand it, we all want to win, but I feel really sorry for the team. They do not deserve to end the year like this. After a season with lots of problems and bad luck, we all deserved a result more equivalent to our potential. I would like to say that I appreciate the fantastic work the team has done during the whole season and the effort the sponsors do to support us during the championship. I leave with a bad feeling, because of this crash, but at the same time I am proud of my team and the terrific job they have done, although it is not visible in the final results.”
